Jeny, congratulations on your new family member! This is why I believe everything happens for a reason! You may not have ended up with the corgi you originally wanted, but in the end you got one who is much better for you and I'm sure you'll give him an incredible, happy home. :) He sounds like such a sweetheart, and I'll bet he's glad to get out of that shelter. Also, I'm sure the little corgi girl will find a great home, too. Good news for everyone involved!

I'm so happy everything turned out so great for you! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of Wrigley. :)

All 3 of my corgis are rescues!I've had Ein (14) for 6 yrs, Lilly (4?) For a year and half, just got Twinkie (3) 2 months ago! Twinkie is really like Stitch from Lilo and Stitch!Twinkie was a "forclosure dog" She's only 17 pounds, a little ball of fun and fury! I really love them all, and they are all different!

Everything turned out wonderful! I went to the shelter tonight to take a look at both her and a Corgi mix they had in. The one I initially wanted was snappy and growling and barking the whole time. She ended up not being socialized at all, which is not something I want. The Corgi mix was just beautiful. He was laying in his pen just hanging out and seemed pretty excited to see people. I decided right then and there I was meant to have him. He has been totally mellow and friendly so far. I took him to PetCo (he pooped in the collar aisle :( ) and he wanted to say hi to everyone and their pets. I named him Wrigley (I'm a die hard Cubs fan). Pictures will be on my profile soon! Any help figuring out what he is, aside from Corgi would be much appreciated. :D

Aw Jeny! :( I know you are sad, just remember, everything happens for a reason! If the corgi at the shelter is destined for you, it will happen!

I'm so sad, it looks like I may not be able to get her after all. Apparently she has had tons and tons of calls to the shelter inquiring about her and people are planning on camping out all night for her. I would, but my boyfriend doesn't feel comfortable letting me go on my own and he has to work early in the morning. I may still try, but have started looking at other possible adoptions. :(

Oh, Jeny, I wish you the best of luck with getting your corgi girl! I hope it works out easier for you than it did for me, and it's wonderful that she just appeared like that for you, too! I knew when I saw Honey that she was supposed to be my dog, and lo and behold apparently she was! She's cuddled up next to me right now. :) Keep us updated and how things turn out!

Kristen, that was such a sweet story! I have to admit, I am pretty nervous about a situation like that arising for me this week. I have wanted a Corgi for years, know all about them and have essentially been obsessed, but I never lived in a place that allowed dogs. My new apartment complex will let me have a dog, so I have been scouring petfinder and the internet trying to find one. I feel like I have won the lottery to find a one year old Corgi girl in a shelter near here. She is not available until Wednesday, so I plan on visiting her Monday (and maybe Tuesday ;) ) and arriving early to pick her up on Wednesday. I am TERRIFIED someone will get there before me. I can't explain it, but when I saw her picture, I knew she was the one. Now, I just have to hope I am the only one who felt that way!
